Joanne Brooks

Joanne Brooks has been in the travel industry since 1978, when she joined one of the largest travel agencies in Fairfield County, Connecticut — managing airline financial reporting, processing travel bookings, and joining familiarization trips that ignited a lifelong passion for the world. She earned her place on the Adler Travel team in 1992 after completing the Adler Cruise Course, and for nearly two decades after that she continued booking trips for family and friends while working full-time at Yale University. Since retiring in 2011, travel has become her full focus, and she has spent those years deepening her expertise through professional webinars with Travel Leaders Network and a significant expansion of her personal travel.

Joanne is AMA Waterways certified and has made European river cruising one of her signature specialties. She knows the Rhine, Danube, Moselle, Rhône, and Douro intimately — their seasonal rhythms, how the major lines differ in service and cuisine, and which shore excursion combinations make each port genuinely memorable. For clients who want to explore Europe beyond the rivers, she also plans European rail journeys through Railbookers, opening up destinations no ship can reach.

On the ocean side, Joanne specializes in Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Oceania, Princess, and Holland America — lines she knows from years of personal experience and ongoing certification work, including Princess Cruises. For clients drawn to fully escorted land travel, she has deep booking experience with Collette Tours and Tauck Tours, as well as CIE for Ireland and the British Isles. Her Caribbean expertise covers the region’s top island destinations alongside cruise itineraries across every travel style and budget.

Joanne’s favorite destinations span Italy, Switzerland, Greece, and Ireland in Europe, along with the Canadian Rockies, Aruba, Bermuda, and the U.S. National Parks closer to home.
